    The Wedding

    By TWilson | July 29, 2007

I want to take a departure from my usual BLOG material and share with you some exciting news that took place recently.

On June 16, 2007, my son was married.  It was a joyous occasion for us as we went to Dodge City Kansas for the wedding.  The trip to Dodge was interesting as we had to make last minute arrangements on another airline, when the airline we were suppose to fly canceled our flight the night before we were suppose to leave.   You can image my astonishment when my daughter called me at 9:00pm Thursday to inform me of the cancellation of our flight from Boston to Kansas for no apparent reason.  So much for booking flights in advance in to get a good rate.

The airline industry today represents the height of complete managerial idiocy, no concern for customer loyalty – you can forget customer satisfaction.  I don’t fly that often and I feel sorry for anyone who flies on a regular basis.  The total lack of respect and concern for their customers is beyond the pail.  It’s the height of stupidity to keep people on a plane sitting on a tarmac for nine hours while passengers are setting in the plane with no air conditioning or food.  I count family and myself fortunate; I just had to reschedule my flight – which I might point out cost me 3 times the original cost because of the cancellation.

Regardless of the airline fiasco, the main thing for my wife and me was seeing our youngest married.  I have to admit I had a tear in my eye when he and his mother danced to the Boys II Men A Song for Momma, how could I not be moved by that actually I would have been fine but my daughter starting crying.

Without going into detail, both my wife and I had our concerns about our son as he was growing up, but he turned out all right.  So now, we have a daughter-in-law and he will find out about the joys of marriage over time.

Who said there is not justice in the world?
